About The Position

Responsibilities: 1. Research and identify funding opportunities and review/distribute information regarding research funding. 2. Provides grant statistical information as requested. 3. Maintains pre-award and post-award proposal files and follows up with faculty on funding decisions for past submissions. 4. Maintains pending files up-to-date and disposes of old files for unfunded submissions. 5. Track grant expenditures, prepare budgets, and assist with financial reporting and audits. 6. Maintain relationships with funding sources, submit progress reports, and provide technical assistance to departments receiving grant funds. 7. Conducts preliminary review of grant proposals to ensure applications are in accurate and in compliance with agency and university guidelines and published timetables and deadlines. 8. Provides progress reports as needed. 9. Serves as the first point of contact for pre-award matters. 10. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required and is preferred in relevant area and extensive demonstrable hands-on, or transferable experience in the area of sponsored programs.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and/or community funding sources and mechanisms.
  • Knowledge and understanding of agreements, guidelines, and policies.
  • Must have a working knowledge of related federal and state rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as well as the ability to interpret those of a variety of sponsoring agencies.
