The OSFM is recruiting for a Grants Analyst (Program Analyst 2). As the Grants Analyst you will play a key role in supporting the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s mission to strengthen wildfire resilience and community safety across Oregon. This position is part of a team that administers the OSFM’s Community Fire Hardening grant programs, which fund home hardening, wildfire recovery, and local fire service capacity-building efforts. The analyst reviews reimbursement requests, validates billing documentation, tracks contractor and grantee performance, and identifies potential compliance or audit risks. By maintaining accurate records and monitoring adherence to grant requirements, this role helps safeguard public funds and supports successful outcomes for communities statewide. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years’ experience coordinating or administering a program.
  • Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with grant administration, reimbursement processes, and applying state and federal compliance requirements.
  • Skill in reviewing documentation for accuracy and identifying discrepancies or potential audit risks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, provide guidance, and collaborate with grantees, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Experience improving procedures, tools, and tracking systems to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Proficient in using digital tracking systems, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and communication platforms.
