About Skyland Grain, LLC a company of The Andersons, Inc. Skyland Grain operates grain storage and handling facilities at over 50 locations in Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Texas. It also operates three cotton gins, a full-service agronomy sales and service division, and a retail and wholesale fuel sales and delivery division. Skyland also owns a majority interest in Heartland Soil Services, LLC, a precision agronomy testing, data analysis, and consulting company with operations in five states. Position Summary This position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and executing commodity transactions as well as building and maintaining strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders across the Western Kansas Region .

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree required in (or the equivalent in work experience) preferably in Agriculture, Business, Finance Economics or related major
• 2-5 years of experience required in commodity merchandising, originations, or trading
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Responsibilities

• Create plans for and execute on lead generation - locate, evaluate and recruit potential customers/clients.
• Serve customers; introduce new product/service offerings; address inquiries and resolve issues; manage deal details, credit and payment terms.
• Inform customers of new product/service introductions and prices
• Create, monitor and revise/lead generation plans to ensure a substantive sales opportunity pipeline
• Partner with internal departments on all activities surrounding the transfer or execution of goods/services/products, ensure that appropriate instructions, documentation, and regulatory standards are present.
• Maintain and leverage data and resources to develop and execute sales plans, as well as to inform the department through reporting or sharing of information.
• Participate in marketing and execution activities as needed
