About The Position

This intern will work directly and learn from the Grain Originator. These internships involve working extensively with producers in procuring grain and setting up marketing programs. You must be detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.

Currently attending a college/vocational school, with area of study in agriculture or related field.
High level of customer service focus

Responsibilities

Learn and Assist with Grain Origination Procure grain from local producers and call on new accounts.
Learn and observe working with producers, updating them on market trends, current grain quotes, grain programs, and forming marketing plans.
Assist with reporting and entering all purchasing contracts quickly & accurately.
Partner with the elevator and office staff in the exchange of information to enhance the company grain objectives.
Provide excellent customer service and work well with patrons in a courteous and professional manner.
Learn the basics of how a grain elevator merchandises grain (Basis, Futures, Spreads).
Other duties as assigned.
Understand DOT placarding and DOT hazardous rules
Assist in grain operations duties: loading trucks, clearing ground around the facility etc.
Possess mechanical skills to perform minor maintenance tasks on grain equipment and property
Ability to handle stressful situations professionally
