About The Position

Kforce has a client in Dallas, TX that is seeking a Grafana Observability Architect.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure automation roles
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Grafana and dashboard development
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, Loki, Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry instrumentation and data collection
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
  • Familiarity with security and compliance in automated environments
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement observability platforms using Grafana, Tempo, Loki, Mimir, Prometheus
  • Design scalable telemetry pipelines with OpenTelemetry and Grafana Agent
  • Define observability standards, SLIs/SLOs, and alerting strategies
  • Collaborate with teams to instrument services for metrics, logs, and traces
  • Develop reusable dashboards and templates for monitoring and incident response
  • Create visually compelling Grafana dashboards and integrate with data sources
  • Integrate telemetry from Tomcat, Liberty, Ping, Linux, Windows, databases (Oracle, PostGres), and REST APIs
  • Implement alerting for SLA breaches, latency spikes, and anomalies
  • Manage OpenTelemetry instrumentation and data pipelines across services
  • Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket, Nexus
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible
  • Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring for cloud and on-prem environments
  • Act as SME for automation and observability best practices
  • Lead initiatives to improve system performance and reliability
  • Conduct training, create documentation, and advocate OpenTelemetry adoption
  • Stay current with DevOps and observability trends to optimize processes and tools
