About The Position

The Graduate and Undergraduate Recruiter is responsible for recruiting potential students to the MS Data Science & Applied Artificial Intelligence and BS Data Analytics programs within Academic Affairs. This professional will develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan, including: (1) developing and managing relationships with individual prospects utilizing appropriate sales, marketing, and client lead techniques (2) developing corporate/employer relationships; developing alumni relationships (3) coordinating and leading graduate and undergraduate recruitment events and (4) working with other units to cross-market services. The Graduate and Undergraduate Recruiter will establish and implement tracking systems to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment efforts and will analyze prospect and admissions data to further inform the process. Flexibility for scheduling early, late, and weekend work hours is required to accommodate programming needs. Graduate and Undergraduate Recruiter 75% Counsels prospective and admitted students on educational planning and career opportunities. Reviews, evaluates, and responds to student applications according to established policies and procedures. Schedules logistics, secures resources, and attends events to promote the MSDSAAI and BSDA programs to prospective students locally, regionally, and nationally. Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission Engages in extensive outreach and recruitment events, representing the MSDSAAI and BSDA to prospective students Works with the Program Advisor/Administrative Specialist in developing recruitment and promotional plans. Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement. Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals. Provides regular updates (on a monthly basis) on recruitment including a breakdown, for each of the two programs, to the Co-Director of the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute, the Program Director of the two programs, and the Program Advisor of the two programs, on Number of contacts made locally, regionally, and nationally. Number of inquiries generated either because of contacts or organically. Number of inquiries that resulted in the start of applications for admission. Number of applications for admission to the programs that have been completed and submitted. Participates in the Majors Fair for the BSDA program and the Graduate School Open House for the MSDSAAI program each year. Any other duties and responsibilities related to the promotion of, and recruitment to, the programs that may arise over time. Admissions and Recruitment Support 25% Assists Program Advisor/Administrative Specialist with identifying opportunities for and development of admissions and outreach events for current and prospective MSDSAAI and BSDA students. Assists Program Advisor/Administrative Specialist with program development, planning and improvement for current MSDSAAI and BSDA students. Assists Program Advisor/Administrative Specialist with MSDSAAI and BSDA student retention initiatives. Any other admissions support duties and responsibilities that may arise over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year or more of experience in student recruitment related activities
  • Demonstrated written communication skills, as evidenced through application materials
