About The Position

In this position, you will support the Kogod School of Business Student Development team with event coordination, student engagement initiatives, and administrative support. The ideal candidate will be a current graduate student with strong organizational, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop leadership and professional skills while making a meaningful impact on the student experience for Kogod students. Additional duties include general event support, which may require flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• Must be a current graduate student at American University in good academic standing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently/collaboratively and manage multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Enrolled in a Kogod academic program.
• Enrolled through Spring 2027.
• Experience using Canva and/or the Kogod Connect (Suitable) platform.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, execution, and assessment of events including new student orientation, various cultural and educational programs, and support of clubs, case competition, digital badging, and more.
• Collaborate with other Kogod and AU offices/departments for student engagement programs.
• Conduct informational tabling in the Kogod building to promote events and resources.
• Support student outreach efforts through email, social media, and other outlets.
• Assist with the management of the Kogod Connect platform (Suitable app). Add and update events and activities. Develop and update badges and achievement systems.
• Attend weekly Student Development team meetings.
• Support special projects at the request of the Associate Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
