Under the supervision and guidance of the Associate Director of Business Career Services Operations, the Graduate Program Student Success Advisor has the following responsibilities: Career Coaching and Student Support: Provide professional development services to in-person and online graduate students, including but not limited to one-on-one coaching & career management sessions, resume and job document review, career planning assistance, mock interviews and internship guidance and evaluation. Meet regularly with graduate students to develop and implement their career launch plans. Assist graduate students with developing professional documents including resumes, cover letters, and networking emails, as well as professional branding and professional portfolios. Coach graduate students on interviewing skills, networking opportunities, evaluation of job offers, and salary negotiation, in addition to world of workplace exposure opportunities. Design, develop, and lead workshops, classroom presentations, and information sessions to help graduate students identify and articulate their career readiness. Course Facilitation: Responsible for providing direct instruction and course administration for multiple sections of the GEB Course (Professional Development for Graduate Students), or similar courses, under the guidance of the Instructor of Record. This includes but is not limited to leading workshop-style class sessions for both in-person and online graduate students, assigning and assessing student work, administering Canvas course pages for each course section. Work with the Instructor of Record in the ongoing refinement of educational materials for the GEB Course or similar courses (lesson plans, assignments, lectures, etc.) Support the assessment of course effectiveness for both in-person and online program goals. Maintain a flexible schedule to support early mornings and evenings teaching sections of Professional Development classes. Program Support and Industry Insights: Maintain accurate advising, workshop, and event records in the Business Career Services' management platform. Maintain a deep understanding of the academic offerings and opportunities at the College of Business, while recognizing the differences, trends and nuances of various industries to support graduate students in pursuing aligned academic paths. Coordinate and collaborate with Graduate Program Advisors to effectively monitor graduate students' progress toward professional goals, employability tracks, and internship opportunities. Remain up to date on employment trends and career opportunities in relevant industries, including labor market trends, competencies, and career readiness. Remain up to date on trends and best practices related to career coaching, resume critique, job searching, networking, and opportunities across the graduate programs in the college. Business Career Services: Provide career coaching for other student levels during high-volume periods. Assist with Business Career Services professional program initiatives, recruiting and professional development events, career fairs, and workshops. Collaborate with the Dean's leadership team and support the College of Business in student engagement related activities and strategic initiatives. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the success of the Professional Development (GEB) programs.
