About The Position

The Honors College has a Graduate Program Assistant position available for Fall 2026. The ideal candidate would be available to begin working on August 1, 2026. The Graduate Assistant will support the Honors College Student Actualization and Engagement (SAE) team in a variety of projects. A majority of the Graduate Assistant’s time will be devoted to advising undergraduate students and managing the honors advising resources (e.g., PeopleSoft; NAVIGATE; Honors Record Canvas course, and new student orientation Canvas course). The Graduate Assistant will report to and work closely with the coordinator/honors advisor of the Honors College.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently accepted to a recognized graduate program at the University of Nevada, Reno and must enroll in at least 9 graduate credits per semester.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate effectively in written and oral forms, and accomplish goals within a range of established guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, and other relevant software (e.g., PeopleSoft, DocuSign, Canvas)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • The ability take a problem-solving, student-first approach to working with a diverse undergraduate student population

  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of/experience in honors education

Responsibilities

  • Advise undergraduate Honors students.
  • Contribute to other Honors Advising projects or Honors College initiatives.
