About The Position

- The Graduate Assistant Community Coordinator and Program Assistant for the Honors Program at North Greenville University is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of community engagement initiatives and academic programs within the Honors Program. This role involves collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to enhance the educational experience and foster a vibrant community atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Enrollment in a graduate program at NORTH GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY is necessary.
  • Experience in community coordination or event planning, preferably within an academic setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with database management.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive community environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for program events and activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous involvement in student leadership roles or extracurricular activities is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing community events and activities that promote student engagement and academic excellence within the Honors Program.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement program initiatives that align with the goals of the Honors Program.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and the Honors Program administration, addressing student needs and concerns.
  • Provide administrative support for program activities, including scheduling, communications, and record-keeping.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars aimed at enhancing students' academic and professional development.
  • Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new students to the Honors Program.
  • Support the development and dissemination of program materials and communications.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and assessment of program effectiveness and student satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the Honors Program.
