About The Position

Villanova University College of Nursing has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct (part-time) faculty to provide instruction in the classroom or clinical area in a variety of graduate level courses. Requirements

  • MSN required.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a CRNP in the state of Pennsylvania (to teach in NP theory or clinical courses).
  • Certified as a nurse practitioner in one of the following specialties: AGNP , FNP , PNP , PMHNP (to teach in NP theory or clinical courses).
  • Current experience as an CRNP (to teach in NP theory or clinical courses).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in academic or clinical teaching and willingness to be flexible in fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Doctoral degree

Responsibilities

  • Understand the course objectives for the course which adjunct faculty is assigned and be familiar with the overall curriculum of the College of Nursing.
  • Provide supervision of students in the classroom (in-person or online) or clinical setting.
  • If a clinical course, visit students in their precepted clinical sites at least two times a semester.
  • Provide supervision of students in weekly case presentations groups.
  • Prepare student to develop competent clinical decision-making capability by facilitating sound clinical reasoning and critical thinking techniques.
  • Foster communication skills with preceptors and course faculty.
  • Validate students’ understanding of theoretical, scientific, and evidence based practice.
  • Evaluate students’ clinical practice and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of clinical objectives by completing a formal Clinical Evaluation.
  • Guide students in their growth within the nursing profession.
  • Validate students’ understanding of theoretical, scientific and evidence-based concepts to meet course objectives.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of course and clinical objectives.
