The Graduate Nurse Coordinator supports the Nurse Residency Program (NRP) by leading site-based education, mentorship, and transition-to-practice initiatives. This role ensures new graduate nurses are equipped to succeed through structured learning, clinical support, and collaboration with nursing leadership.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • 3 years of acute care RN experience
  • Current Florida RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • BLS certification required
  • National specialty certification required within 12 months

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine orientation and training aligned with NRP standards
  • Ensure consistency in NRP implementation and evaluation
  • Serve as liaison between NRP leadership, learning managers, and nursing leaders
  • Oversee NRP curriculum implementation and site-based instruction
  • Coordinate classes, skills labs, simulations, and seminars using adult learning principles
  • Observe and evaluate resident practice with preceptors and nurse leaders
  • Provide coaching and feedback to support clinical performance and professional growth
  • Guide residents and preceptors in achieving optimal NRP outcomes
  • Manage confidential materials and sensitive communications
  • Serve as the site-based leader supporting new graduate nurse transition
  • Communicate program needs, progress, and issues to nursing and NRP leadership
  • Participate in system-wide meetings, workgroups, and learning initiatives
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to support recruitment and retention
  • Analyze NRP data and program outcomes to drive continuous improvement
  • Identify and address barriers to learning, progression, and retention
  • Monitor compliance, performance trends, and evidence-based practice changes
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and a healthy work environment
