About The Position

Completing orientation/training and ongoing training assignments to promote the GA's professional growth and development. Assist in client intake process and administer necessary, basic assessments, and treatment planning. Write case notes, client assessments, treatment plans, and evaluations, and submits them within 48 hours and maintains client records both written and electronic. Will learn and become proficient in utilizing Titanium Schedule, the Counseling Center scheduling and documentation system. Participates in weekly supervision sessions in collaboration with site supervisor. Attends appropriate meetings, including staff meetings and other meetings and training with clinical staff. Identifies on-campus and off-campus resources, services and systems necessary for students. Assists with Qualtrics, and student intake and follow-up surveys. Assists and participates in outreach events sponsored by the Counseling Center including but not limited to training, workshops, psychoeducational and therapy groups, and campus activities. Perform Supportive Counseling duties with students as well as carrying a small case load (once released from Counselor mentors) of level 1 and 2 clients. Assist with walk-in appointments as well as crisis response. Other duties as assigned to assist the team and clients.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program at Marshall University.
  • Must be a 2nd year Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work Master's Program student.
  • Student must show proof of being eligible for a Graduate Assistantship by a Graduate Program, as well as a Graduate Assistantship faculty member from the Graduate Assistant's higher education institution.
  • Must have completed courses pertaining to theory, assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description.
  • Prior experience is preferred but not required.
