The English Department seeks a graduate student to work in the role of NeMLA Graduate Assistant on projects related to the Northeast Modern Language Association ( NeMLA ), a professional academic association focused on literatures, languages, and the interdisciplinary humanities. The NeMLA Graduate Assistant would support NeMLA’s executive director and associate executive director on a variety of administrative work. As a student representative of both NeMLA and Gannon University, the utmost professionalism and integrity is expected at all times. This position will help to develop the following NACE career readiness competencies: Career & Self Development: Proactively develop oneself and one’s career through continual personal and professional learning, awareness of one’s strengths and weaknesses, navigation of career opportunities, and networking to build relationships within and without one’s organization. Communication: Clearly and effectively exchange information, ideas, facts, and perspectives with persons inside and outside of an organization. Professionalism: Knowing work environments differ greatly, understand and demonstrate effective work habits, and act in the interest of the larger community and workplace. Graduate Assistant will be working in collaboration with supervising faculty member Dr. Derek DiMatteo, associate executive director of NeMLA and assistant professor of English at Gannon.
