About The Position

University Leadership Network (ULN) seeks a graduate student to assist program objectives related to improving student success through experiential learning. This position will be essential to supporting students and programmatic efforts to improve student retention and graduation. The ULN office is located in FAC 2.116. The University Leadership Network (ULN) is a nationally recognized incentive-based scholarship program for students to excel academically, develop into leaders, and graduate in four years. Many students in the ULN program are the first in their family to attend college, and all have high financial need. ULN ensures its students are engaged, connected, accountable, and supported academically and financially to succeed. Over the course of four years, ULN students earn up to $20,000 ($5,000 per year) in an incentive-based scholarship.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time master’s or doctoral student in educational leadership & policy, educational psychology, curriculum & instruction, or related field – preference given to students in educational leadership & policy
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Confidence working with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills; high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Canvas, Canva, Qualtrics or similar software
  • Experience developing programming and activities for students
  • Experience developing surveys, observation forms, and focus group protocols
  • Experience with student resources at The University of Texas at Austin
  • Experience with problem-solving and working independently
  • Coursework in student development theory

Responsibilities

  • Assist with programs, activities, and research related to improving student retention and graduation such as experiential learning and leadership
  • Connect students with experiential learning opportunities on and off campus through researching and communicating resources
  • Facilitate and maintain an alternative experiential learning program
  • Assist with ULN ELEVATE leadership program
  • Assist with ULN digital badging initiatives
  • Collaborate with ULN staff, on- and off-campus partners to develop programming relating to career readiness, leadership, financial education, and building community
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and support other ULN & Undergraduate College initiatives as needed
  • Assist with managing ULN social media accounts
  • Prepare reports as requested for both internal and external audiences
  • Other duties as assigned
