About The Position

The Graduate Assistant (GA) will work 20 hours per week and receive up to 12 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 9 for spring and 3 for summer. Overview This position is one that has existed for many years with great success within the Computing Services (now Endpoint Services) department within IT. For many years, students from computer science, the MBA program and others have launched successful careers from this program. This position helps students learn the basics of running a midsize/large IT department and computing security and management. For computer science master's candidates, this is an excellent opportunity for them to see and participate in the real life, practical application of the work they are putting in on the academic side. MBA candidates are able to learn about the management of computer technology specifically as it pertains to end user and cloud computing.

Responsibilities

  • In this position, students will have the opportunity to learn about PC inventory best practices
  • computer platform management (SCCM, JAMF, Google Workspace)
  • computer support
  • software management (which occasionally requires learning some light coding)
