About The Position

Nichols College Graduate Assistant in Advancement and Alumni Relations DEPARTMENT: Advancement/ Alumni Relations REPORTS TO: Director of the Nichols Fund JOB SUMMARY: The Graduate Assistant supports the Advancement and Alumni Relations Office in alumni engagement, fundraising initiatives, events, communications, and stewardship activities. The position also serves as a liaison to the student body to promote awareness of Advancement programs and strengthen connections between students, alumni, and donors. This role provides hands-on experience in higher education advancement and requires availability for regular office hours as well as occasional evening and weekend meetings and events. Will receive 50% tuition remission.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of Advancement and Alumni Relations events, including Homecoming, alumni receptions, and other engagement activities. Responsibilities may include preparation of event materials, mailings, registration management, logistical coordination, and photography.
  • Re-establish and coordinate the Student Alumni Society as a student leadership and engagement initiative that connects current students with alumni and the mission of Advancement.
  • Serve as a liaison between Advancement and the student body by collaborating with student clubs, organizations, academic departments, and classes to promote awareness of Advancement and Alumni Relations programs and opportunities.
  • Assist with alumni and donor engagement efforts, including outreach activities such as phone calls, email communications, and other engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Athletics and coaching staff to support fundraising initiatives, including participation in campaigns such as September Athletics Bison Blitz and Day of Giving.
  • Serve as an editorial assistant for Nichols College Magazine, supporting content development, editing, and coordination as needed.
  • Assist with CRM (Slate) functions and database updates, including data enhancement and maintenance to ensure accurate alumni and donor records.
