About The Position

The Group Purchasing Manager (GPO) contributes to increased company product sales and profitability to the Food Away from Home distributor channel. This position has many primary responsibilities as a direct liaison to the GPO corporate office, as well as develops, implements and administers the majority of all collateral programs of this market channel function, including such customers as, Aramark, Food Buy/ Compass, Avendra, Sodexo, Marriott hospitality group, Hilton hotels, Etc. Through the development, implementation and administration of such programs, tailored to each corporate GPO entity, the incumbent creates interest to assure a competitive advantage support versus competition.

Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: B.A. or an equivalent; and eight to ten years related experience and/ or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that confirm to prescribed style and format.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of most commonly used business systems and software applications in addition to Windows Office and how these systems relate to business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess trade distribution channels and identify opportunities for maximum growth potential and cost effectiveness for MegaMex FAFH.
  • Develop a GOP channel strategy, along with defining how our products and programs will be positioned, communicating that information to Food Away from Regional Teams.
  • Represent MegaMex Foods to all GPO headquarters.
  • Design, implement and manage headquarter marketing, and promotional programs.
  • Work with GPO and Hospitality on gap analysis, to focus on growth within the MegaMex Portfolio guardrails.
