About The Position

This position will serve as a Summer Intern for the Geotechnical Engineering Division of the Indiana Department of Transportation. The Intern will be responsible for a variety of division projects and support. The objective of the position is to provide valuable learning experience for the intern, as well as to assist the agency in completing their assignments and responsibilities.

Requirements

Working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Ability to research, draft, and edit data and reports
Analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple projects
Ability to operate computer tools
Good research and writing skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Confidence and ability to learn on the job and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
A valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

Relevant work experience or coursework is preferred

Responsibilities

Work on Geotechnical issues relevant to Foundation Design
Other duties as assigned
Identify and execute one major project related to agency needs and academic area of study
Create, develop, and sustain the programmatic efforts for the assigned discipline
Analyze data and feedback to provide recommendations
Partner with other relevant stakeholders to promote and enhance the quality of projects
Collaborate with State of Indiana agencies to ensure effective implementation of internal and external initiatives
