About The Position

Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on department and need. The Intern receives assignments from supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each assignment as it is completed. The Intern is expected to meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail. Independence in working, tact, and diplomacy are required. Sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol are also expected. Qualifications Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ecclesiastical endorsement (current temple recommend holder) Classroom or work experience in public affairs, political science, communications, or a related field - Bachelor's degree preferred but not required Proficient in Microsoft Office Excellent editing, writing, and research skills Ability to work independently as well as under direction from others Ability to maintain professionalism in the workplace and integrity working from home Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter. Job Duties Description: Track legislation Find and analyze the most current research on policies and laws Assist in preparations for concerts, general conferences, and other events Help prepare presentations on issues of concern for use in briefings with senior Church leaders Write analyses and briefs on a wide variety of topics Participate in team meetings to assist in strategic decision-making Assist with hosting government officials at Church headquarters Interns may also have the opportunity to work on projects of their design if they fit within the mission of the Department and are approved by the team

Requirements

  • Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
  • Ecclesiastical endorsement (current temple recommend holder)
