About The Position

The Texas Instruments (TI) Government Relations team represents the company on important public policy issues around the world. We work with state and federal government officials, legislators, trade associations, business partners, and internal and external stakeholders to advance a policy and regulatory environment that supports TI’s strategic interests and business priorities. Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced Government Relations professional to join our Washington, DC policy team. This is an opportunity to shape public dialogue and policymaking on critical semiconductor business and technology policy issues. This new position will lead TI government relations work related to workforce; STEM education; immigration; intellectual property and environmental policy; as well as broader policy work as part of the TI government relations team. A successful candidate will have experience with tech policies, workforce, and manufacturing with a passion for technology. The candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of government processes. This individual contributor role is based in Washington D.C. and will report to the Director of Government Relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, political science, international relations, communications, engineering, or related field required.
  • Minimum six years of work experience in related positions, including with a relevant industry, such as manufacturing or technology; previous U.S. government experience preferred.
  • Expertise with legislative and regulatory process.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with numerous internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to efficiently educate on positions, complete complex tasks, solve problems and adapt to changing circumstances.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MA, JD) in a related field.
  • Extensive experience reviewing and analyzing complex policy proposals, legislative and regulatory.
  • Good knowledge of workforce, immigration, and environment policy issues.
  • Experience with Political Action Committee activities.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property policy.
  • Knowledge of privacy policy.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze and make recommendations regarding key policy and regulatory developments related to workforce, immigration, intellectual property, privacy, and environment.
  • Build and maintain communication channels with internal colleagues across relevant TI teams to explain policy, understand impacts and advise on any advocacy strategies.
  • Develop and recommend the best policy approaches, decision makers understanding and build relevant successful coalitions.
  • Represent TI in trade associations and establish/manage constructive relationships with other relevant stakeholders, including coalitions and academic institutions.
  • Collaborate across the global government relations team on initiatives to strengthen relationships among key decision makers.
