About The Position

The Gov Purchasing Assistant - Acts in a support role to functions within the Contract Administration department. This may include placing purchase orders, open order expediting, entering vendor claims, assisting with quality rejections and billing discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities
  • Corporate purchasing experience
  • Excellent & professional communication skills
  • Motivated individual & eager to learn
  • Understand & process information quickly

Responsibilities

  • Purchase per order requirements
  • Assist in expediting material
  • Negotiate pricing and lead time
  • Assist in resolving quality issues internally and externally
  • Assist with vendor billing discrepancies
  • Assist in sourcing alternative suppliers
  • Assist with receiving discrepancies
