Job Summary: The Government Affairs Associate will support the Chief of Staff and Head of Government Affairs in managing domestic and international external relations with government entities, tracking policy developments, and coordinating advocacy efforts. This role focuses on maintaining trade associations, regulatory monitoring across global jurisdictions, reporting dashboards, and interfacing with key stakeholders to advance the organization's interests in legislative and regulatory matters worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, advocacy, or related roles, preferably in a corporate or association setting with international exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international regulatory and legislative processes, with experience tracking global developments and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Superior communication abilities for interfacing with internal teams, lobbyists, and external officials across cultures and time zones.

  • Experience in trade associations, lobbying coordination, international policy, or certifications in public policy (e.g., relevant professional associations).

Responsibilities

  • Manage trade association memberships and participation, including renewals, event coordination, and representation on behalf of the organization at both domestic and international levels.
  • Track regulatory and legislative developments at federal, state, local, and international levels, providing timely summaries and impact assessments to leadership.
  • Coordinate lobbyist activities and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and monitoring progress on domestic and international advocacy initiatives.
  • Interface with legal and compliance teams to align government affairs strategies with internal policies and risk management, including global regulatory compliance.
  • Support congressional, agency, and international engagements (e.g., with foreign governments or multilateral organizations), including preparing briefing materials, scheduling meetings, and following up on action items.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather inputs on policy positions, report global policy risks to executive leadership, and contribute to enterprise-wide risk monitoring.
  • Assist in ad-hoc tasks such as policy research, stakeholder mapping, or supporting global policy strategies, as needed.
