Curious and innovative problem solvers looking for the chance to meaningfully shape the future of cardiac health, our company, and your career About This Role: The Government Affairs and Health Policy Senior Manager will be based in the Washington, D.C. area and serve as a highly strategic individual contributor dedicated to advancing the company’s federal policy and reimbursement priorities. This position is responsible for strategic engagement with U.S. federal policymakers and the Executive Branch, with the goal of furthering the company’s public policy priorities and regulatory interests. This role is structured to bridge the gap between government affairs and reimbursement strategy, placing a strong emphasis on direct advocacy on Capitol Hill and ongoing engagement with federal agencies, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Senior Manager will act as a registered federal lobbyist, effectively representing the company’s interests, collaborating with external consultants and trade associations, and transforming public policy developments into actionable reimbursement insights. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep subject-matter expertise and possess the ability to influence and operate independently within a highly complex environment. This individual should be a team player who values collaboration and partnership. This individual will report directly to the Director, Government Programs & Reimbursement and will have the opportunity to work closely with other team members. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MPH, MPP, JD, MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum experience: 12 years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree; 8 years’ experience with a master’s degree; or 5 years’ experience with a PhD. Equivalent experience may be accepted.
  • At least 8–10 years’ experience in federal government affairs, reimbursement policy, or a related field, including work with CMS and HHS.
  • Significant background in government relations, especially federal affairs.
  • Active federal lobbyist registration and direct Capitol Hill engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of federal reimbursement, coverage, and payment policy.
  • Demonstrated independent work as a senior contributor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; skilled at developing clear, effective messaging.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

  • Proven experience collaborating with or overseeing external lobbying firms and policy consultants.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, Medicare policy, and corporate tax matters.
  • Documented success working at the intersection of government affairs and reimbursement or market access.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, monitor, and influence legislation, regulations, and emerging issues that affect the industry. This involves staying current on evolving policies, interpreting their impact on company operations, and actively participating in advocacy efforts to shape outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key policymakers on Capitol Hill, government officials, agencies, and industry associations to promote the company’s interests. Engaging in regular dialogue and establishing credibility is essential for advancing organizational priorities.
  • Establish and sustain collaborative relationships with leading patient advocacy and professional associations focused on prioritized policy issues. Proactively advocate for the company’s objectives by conducting direct one-on-one meetings and maintaining ongoing contact with leaders at these organizations. Identify and pursue opportunities for joint efforts that further shared goals.
  • Continuously evaluate the executive, regulatory, and legislative environment to identify risks and opportunities. Provide senior leadership with thorough briefings that include recommended actions based on the latest developments.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with Administration officials to ensure the company’s perspectives are considered in policy discussions.
  • Enhance internal understanding of the federal policymaking process across business units by sharing insights and facilitating knowledge transfer.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership and relevant teams regarding significant legislative developments. Ensure timely communication of key changes and their potential impact on the organization.
  • Build and leverage coalitions and trade associations to advance iRhythm’s policy agenda. Represent iRhythm at coalition meetings, partner meetings, and briefings, actively contributing to discussions at organizations where iRhythm is a member.
  • Support Medicare reimbursement strategy for iRhythm offerings, including activities related to coverage, coding, and payment. Place particular emphasis on Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) dynamics and Medicare Part B policy changes to ensure optimal reimbursement outcomes.
  • Assist with Medicare reimbursement research and gather insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Create internal educational resources and deliver briefings for executives and cross-functional leaders to enhance understanding of reimbursement policies.
  • Anticipate emerging policy and reimbursement trends, proactively advising the organization on associated risks and opportunities to ensure preparedness and adaptability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the achievement of company objectives.
