About The Position

Plan, direct, and lead music for Gospel worship services, ensuring a dynamic and spiritually enriching experience. Select and prepare appropriate Gospel music, incorporating both traditional and contemporary styles. Lead choir rehearsals and coordinate musical arrangements for Sunday services and special events. Recruit, train, and mentor choir members and musicians, fostering a strong and cohesive worship team. Play an instrument (keyboard, piano, or organ) as needed to support choir and congregational singing. Ensure music selections align with the worship service theme and receive approval from the Chaplain. Provide musical leadership for special services such as Christmas, Easter, Holy Days, and other Gospel worship celebrations. Ensure the proper care and use of chapel musical instruments and sound equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in Gospel music ministry, choral direction, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Gospel music styles, traditions, and church worship practices.
• Ability to read or sight-read music and lead both choral and congregational singing.
• Experience leading a choir, recruiting and training vocalists and musicians.
• Proficiency in playing an instrument commonly used in Gospel music (piano, keyboard, or organ).
