About The Position

Greets and assists guests and/or donors. Retail duties will include replenishing stock and/or removing merchandise from the sales floor, changing and maintaining displays, and helping to keep store neat and clean. Production duties will include accepting donations, sorting and preparing merchandise for sale, and/or processing donations. Strives to meet daily sales/processing goals. Performs duties according to the established Best Practices of ESGW. Duties include, but are not limited to: Applies effective written and oral communication skills with co-workers and guests Seeks direction from supervisor when needed Works to improve skills and performance proficiency May be required to assist with Merchandise stocking, as needed. Donation Processing: Hang garments, attach tags or write sizes on tags according to Goodwill Best Practices. Janitor/Cleaner: Sweep and/or mop sales floor. Vacuum carpeted areas, as needed. Clean windows and dust fixtures and shelves, as necessary. Clean and supply washrooms as needed. Empty garbage and recycling bins. Keep exterior of building clean of debris. Collect shopping carts and baskets as necessary. Assists other departments as needed including cleaning duties. Merchandise Stockers: Transport items to and from the sales floor. Place items on shelves, in bins, or on racks in their appropriate place by department, category, size, and color. Face shelves, racks, and/or bins according to display standards. Rotate stock by pulling old items from display and place in totes or carts, as assigned. Assist at cash registers wrapping or bagging merchandise. Provide carry-out service, as needed. Assist with floor recovery and fitting rooms, as needed. Assist with sales floor organization and neatness to ensure a clean shopping environment. Provide excellent guest service. Merchandise hanger: Place garments on appropriate hangers, according to established Best Practice. Clean workstation and restock supplies daily before leaving shift at end of workday. Merchandise tagger: Attach price tickets and/or tags according to established Best Practice. Inform supervisor/manager of supplies needed before running out. Clean workstation and restock supplies daily before leaving shift at end of workday. May be required to assist with Merchandise stocking, as needed. Merchandise sizer: Write or circle size on price tags according to established Best Practice. Clean workstation and restock supplies daily before leaving shift at end of workday.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of merchandise, cash register operations, and change-making
  • Ability to work with people having different abilities
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks independently
  • Knowledge of current trends helpful
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, days, evenings, and weekends
  • Available to work all shifts (weekends and nights a must)
  • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community
  • Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all job requirements
  • Able to stand, stoop, bend, or carry for extended periods
  • Able to move 20-100 pounds by lifting, team lifting, or with mechanical assistance
  • Able to go up and down steps
  • Tolerance to extreme changes in temperature and humidity
  • All positions require the completion of a background check
  • Acknowledging or having criminal convictions does not constitute an automatic bar to employment
