About The Position

Under close supervision collects fee; sells golf equipment; and starts players on golf course.

Requirements

• Knowledge of: The game of golf and of the rules and procedures used on a golf course.
• Ability to: Read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position
• Ability to: Understand, remember, and carry out oral and written instructions
• Ability to: Learn quickly from oral explanations and demonstrations
• Ability to: Work harmoniously with patrons and coworkers
• Ability to: See that course equipment is not misused, damaged, or stolen
• Ability to: Perform routine manual operations
• Ability to: Prepare and maintain necessary records and files.

Responsibilities

• Collects fees from golfers and issues receipts
• Arranges golfers into groups of four
• Starts players to assume proper spacing between groups so that they will not interfere with one another
• Takes measures to expedite play such as permitting faster groups to play by slower groups
• Sells golf equipment
• Takes inventory of golf supplies
• Keeps the pro shop area in a clean and orderly condition
