About The Position

The Golf Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily execution of golf operations to ensure the facility runs smoothly and provides a safe and enjoyable experience for all golfers and guests. This role is a hands-on, front-line leadership position that oversees staff on shift, supports golf shop and tee sheet operations, helps manage carts and practice facilities, and addresses guest concerns in real time. The Golf Operations Supervisor works closely with the Assistant Golf Professional and other department leaders to deliver consistent service standards, maintain facility readiness, and support leagues, outings, and daily play.

Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of ages and guest types, from juniors and beginners through seasoned players and event organizers.
  • Experience in a supervisory, lead, or shift-lead role in operations, hospitality, or recreation preferred.
  • Knowledge of the game of golf, including basic rules, etiquette, and on-course safety, or willingness to learn quickly through training.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours) based on facility schedule, seasonal demand, leagues, and tournaments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to remain calm and focused in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize under time constraints.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the safety and wellbeing of guests and team members.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license to operate golf carts or other light equipment as required by the venue.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the golf course and related areas, including tee sheet execution, proper Operations Team Member coverage, and pro shop and cart operations during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure golfers are checked in accurately; carts are staged and assigned correctly, and guests are directed promptly to the first tee or practice facilities.
  • Monitor pace of play, enforce course policies, and work with Team Members to address bottlenecks and maintain a positive golfer experience.
  • Oversee the daily presentation and readiness of the golf cart fleet, including cleanliness, charging/fueling, staging, and rotation; promptly report maintenance issues to appropriate staff.
  • Ensure the practice range and practice facilities are stocked, organized, and safe, including ball supply, baskets, targets, and signage.
  • Perform or coordinate general housekeeping and light maintenance tasks around golf operations areas (pro shop, cart barn, staging area, range tee, and starter stations), including sweeping, trash removal, and basic cleanliness checks.
  • Provide excellent guest service by being visible, approachable, and responsive to golfers and guests, ensuring all are greeted promptly and courteously.
  • Respond to guest concerns, questions, and feedback, resolving issues when possible and escalating to the Golf Operations Coordinator/Manager or General Manager when needed.
  • Maintain general knowledge of current and upcoming programs, leagues, outings, and facility events to accurately answer guest questions and direct them appropriately.
  • Assist with setup, monitoring, and teardown for daily events, including member and public tournaments, leagues, outings, clinics, and group play (cart signs, scorecards, cart staging, on-course signage, contest markers, scoring materials, etc.).
  • Coordinate day-of-event communication with golf staff, Food & Beverage, and Agronomy to ensure timing, course setup, and service standards are aligned.
  • Enforce facility policies and procedures related to pace of play, cart use, dress code, and course etiquette, communicating expectations clearly and respectfully.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while working around golf carts, equipment, and guests on the course and practice areas.
  • Respond to incidents, accidents, injuries, or on-course issues as needed. Complete and file corresponding incident reports and communicate with leadership as directed.
  • Provide shift leadership to front-line golf operations staff (Guest Services Team Members, Operations Team Members, Pro Shop Team Members, Golf Cart Attendants), including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and giving real-time coaching and feedback.
  • Assist with training new team members on guest service standards, daily procedures, safety expectations, and proper use of equipment and systems.
  • Help monitor and record golf operations logs, such as cart usage and maintenance logs, range ball cycles, and daily opening/closing checklists, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Act as Manager-on-Duty for opening and/or closing of the facility as scheduled, ensuring the course, practice facilities, and golf shop are guest-ready at open and secured at close.
  • Complete special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as directed by the Golf Operations Coordinator/Manager and/or General Manager.
