About The Position

Centenary Park Golf Course is about to begin an exciting new chapter, with Peninsula Leisure taking over management of the facility in early July. Peninsula Leisure is investing in people, programs and the overall experience, and building a team that will help shape the future of this iconic community venue from day one. This is a fantastic opportunity to join as a Casual Golf Operations Assistant if you are passionate about golf, have experience in front-of-house operations within golf, sport or leisure facilities and a knowledge of golf programs, coaching environments and participation pathways. As a key member of the Golf Operations team, you will support the smooth, safe and efficient running of daily operations across the venue. Reporting to the Golf Operations Coordinator, you will work across both front-of-house and back-of-house tasks, helping to create a welcoming and professional environment for all golfers and guests. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork and being part of a vibrant community facility.

Requirements

  • Current CPR
  • Current Police Records Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Experience in front‑of‑house operations within golf, sport, leisure or similar environments
  • Knowledge of golf programs, coaching environments or participation pathways
  • Experience working with golf professionals, coaches or instructors
  • Familiarity with golf booking systems such as MiClub (or similar)
  • Strong customer service skills and a genuine commitment to creating great experiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Initiative, problem‑solving ability and sound decision‑making
  • Resilience, adaptability and a strong values alignment – especially important during a period of positive change

Responsibilities

  • Delivering outstanding customer service at reception and in the café
  • Processing point‑of‑sale transactions and managing bookings, in person, via phone and online
  • Handle customer feedback and escalate issues as required
  • Provide basic advice on golf equipment and apparel as well as assisting with hire equipment management (carts, clubs, range balls)
  • Oversee driving range operations to ensure a positive experience for all users
  • Preparing and serving basic food and beverage items
  • Maintaining a clean, well‑presented café and service area in line with food safety standards
  • Supporting course operations including stock handling, marshalling assistance, and event/program setup
  • Working alongside PGA professionals and casual staff to support coaching programs and participation activities
