About The Position

This position performs assigned labor tasks to assist in proper course and grounds maintenance of outside areas at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
No prior experience is necessary.
Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug screen as a condition of employment.
Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked.
Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.

Manual labor which includes but is not limited to shoveling, raking, pushing a lawn mower, planting flowers, trimming trees and shrubs, etc.
Safe and proper operation of power or manual equipment to complete assigned tasks
Ability to work with others as a team to achieve the common goal of assigned tasks
All weekends required
40 hours per week
Digging holes and trenches on grounds
Laying sod
Cutting cups regularly
Hand watering of turf
Edging cart paths, side walks and curbs
Edging bunkers and pulling weeds in bunkers
Other bunker work including, adding sand, redistributing sand, pushing up sand
Fly mowing bunker faces and ledges
String trimming
Leaf removal/clean up and trash pick up
Report to work on time and complete all scheduled shifts
Attend monthly safety meetings and any pre-scheduled department meetings
Assist other departments when requested
Help train other employees on certain job tasks when necessary
Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa
Good rapport with fellow employees and reflect a positive attitude
Complete all assignments requested of you
Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook
Maintain open line of communication with your direct supervisor
Other duties as assigned
