About The Position

The Ball Management Attendant position includes but is not limited to working as a range ball picker, cleaner, and managing range ball inventory. The Ball Management Attendant position includes being responsible for keeping a steady flow of clean range balls in stock for our customers needs. This includes operating a motor vehicle to pick up range balls from the range infield, cleaning range balls, and making sure the ball dispensing machines stay adequately stocked. This position is also responsible for maintaining control of the range rules and facility regulations in a professional, friendly, safe, and positive manner.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time including maneuvering up and down stairs.
• Ability to stoop and bend.
• Be familiar with Employee Safety Manual and conduct one’s duties in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the Park District’s safety program.
• Wear appropriate Park District Apparel or uniform.
• Monitors the environment for safety concerns and corrects accordingly; informs Head Golf Professional, Supervisor, Greens Superintendent and others of safety-related concerns and unsafe conditions.
• Monitors weather conditions and notifying management staff whenever lightning is sighted
• Support, promote and make recommendations regarding all safety, health and loss control policies as adopted by the Park District.
• Respond to safety concerns, illnesses or injuries on the Range and contact emergency services as needed; notify Supervisor any time police or EMS personnel are engaged.
• Must have a valid IL driver’s license.
• Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Golf Operations Manager or other management personnel on duty to discuss the activities and the expectations for the day.
• Manage inventory and keep a steady flow of range balls in stock for our customers.
• Performs combination of following duties at golf driving range: Picks up golf balls by hand or drives vehicle equipped with trailer that automatically picks up balls as vehicle moves over turf infield.
• Assist with plowing snow off the range in the winter as needed.
• Starts ball washing machine filled with soapy water and immerses golf balls to remove dirt, grass stain, and club marks.
• Facilitates ball blower system to ensure clean range balls are sent to the golf ball dispensing machines.
• Ensure golf ball dispensing machines have a sufficient level of golf ball inventory.
• Disposes of cracked golf balls.
• Operate a motor vehicle and ensure safe driving principles and practices.
• Pick up range buckets from range bays.
• Make sure all equipment; radio, range picker vehicle, ball washer, ball blower machine, ball dispensing machine, TopTracer, etc. are working correctly.
• Involved in the coordination and administration range functions and special events.
• Ensure range and work areas are kept clean and safe and that all safety procedures are followed.
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Communicate with Golf Operations Manager and/or management throughout the day.
• Commitment to highest quality of customer service.
• Various other duties i.e., landscaping, garbage removal, and patio maintenance, as needed.
• Recognize that this position requires courteous, helpful, and responsive treatment to the golfing public at all times
• Assist theTopTracer Attendant in making sure our customers get their range balls, find their bay, and understand how TopTracer works so they can enjoy their golf range experience.
• Utilize communication devices (radio, telephone) in a professional manner (short, clear, and concise).
• Maintain a positive community image for the District and present self in a professional manner and appearance.
• Staff will provide the customer with accurate information in all Park District communications.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the Golf Operations Manager or other management personnel.
• Communicate customer complaints to management to ensure high quality customer service and satisfaction.
• Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those working at the 390 Golf Experience, golf patrons, employees, vendors, and the public.
• Plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines and the ability to exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs.
• Inspects facility for cleanliness, safety, crowd control and customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to get things done.
• Keep work area neat and clean and assist in keeping the range and areas around the 390 Golf Experience facility clean and call attention to management of any maintenance issues needing addressing.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Promote Golf course Restaurant, Banquet and Special Events.
