About The Position

The Woodlands Country Club is seeking a skilled and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and care of our golf course. The ideal candidate will have a passion for golf course management, a strong background in turfgrass maintenance, and the ability to lead a dedicated team. As the Golf Course Superintendent, you will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of our golf course and ensuring an exceptional experience for our members and guests.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course management or a related field.
A degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field is preferred.
Strong knowledge of turfgrass, irrigation systems, and golf course equipment.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Proficient in budget management and cost control.

Responsibilities

Implement and execute effective turfgrass maintenance programs to ensure the health and appearance of the golf course.
Monitor and manage irrigation systems for optimal water usage and turf health.
Oversee mowing, aerification, topdressing, and other cultural practices to maintain course conditions.
Manage and maintain bunkers, greens, fairways, and other course features to meet or exceed established standards.
Lead, train, and motivate a team of groundskeeping staff.
Schedule and coordinate daily tasks to ensure efficient and effective course maintenance.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Assist in the development and management of the annual budget for the golf course maintenance department.
Monitor expenses and work within budgetary constraints.
Implement and promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices on the golf course.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in golf course management.
