About The Position

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Competently work all stations in the Wabasha Creek kitchen. Open and/or close the kitchen. Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the kitchen area. Maintain portion control in all applicable areas. Take direction from the Wabasha Creek Manager and Supervisor. Provide competent direction to all Wabasha Creek Cooks. Handle ordering and scheduling as needed. Ensure quality, consistency and presentation of final product. Operate and perform maintenance on equipment. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in line cooking at a full-service restaurant required, preferably at Wabasha Creek.
  • Experience in kitchen operations preferred, including ordering, scheduling and employee supervision.
  • Culinary skills, including frying, sautéing, broiling, basting, baking, poaching and roasting.
  • High level of skill at all cooking stations.
  • Knowledge and utilization of proper sanitation practices.
  • Strong knife skills.
  • Highly organized and time-efficient.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to follow and appropriately modify recipes.
  • Able to produce consistent food products.
  • Able to provide direction and encouragement to Wabasha Creek Cooks.
  • Able to work all stations and shifts as needed.
  • Able to handle working alone.
  • Able to handle working in a fast-paced environment under stressful conditions.
  • Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
  • Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.
  • Mobility throughout the facility.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Able to twist, bend and squat frequently.
  • Able to tolerate heat.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Good coordination and awareness.

Nice To Haves
