About The Position

Cleveland Metroparks is seeking a dynamic and service-driven Golf Clubhouse Manager to lead the daily operations and guest experience at Mastick Woods and Little Met Golf Courses. This position plays a key role in shaping a welcoming, efficient, and memorable experience for golfers of all ages, overseeing everything from clubhouse operations and retail management to programs, leagues, and special events. The Golf Clubhouse Manager ensures that the facility operates smoothly, safely, and profitably while delivering exceptional service to every guest.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Retail Management, Hospitality, or a related field, plus at least five years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and persuasively.
  • Proven ability to build rapport with guests, employees, and community partners.
  • Excellent organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership, business acumen, and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software; ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • PGA or LPGA Class A membership preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strong leadership to clubhouse staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and evaluating performance. Builds a positive, collaborative team environment and ensures adherence to safety and operational standards.
  • Maintains consistent, reliable attendance and is available for a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Manages seasonal and part-time staff and volunteers, guiding daily workflow, addressing concerns, supporting team development, and communicating operational needs and program updates.
  • Oversees the clubhouse budget and purchasing, ensuring responsible and cost-effective use of resources, and full compliance with Cleveland Metroparks cash-handling procedures.
  • Leads golf shop operations, including merchandise selection, purchasing, inventory control, and point-of-sale promotions to support revenue and enhance the guest experience.
  • Directs the Golf Day Camp program by supervising instructors, leading daily activities, and engaging youth ages 8–17 in golf etiquette, rules, and on-course experiences.
  • Plans, promotes, and coordinates a full calendar of leagues, outings, tournaments, and instructional programs. Works closely with the Golf Professional/Instruction and Special Events Manager to develop schedules, junior golf programming, and reservation procedures.
  • Guides or participates in special projects outlined in the annual work plan—such as merchandise initiatives, Golf Academy programs, Pace of Play enhancements, technology updates, or First Tee support—analyzing data and staff input to drive improvements.
