About The Position

Iron Spark Energy is seeking a Go-to-Market & Commercial Strategy Lead to join the founding commercial team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who enjoys turning early-stage technology into structured market pathways. You will analyze markets, shape segmentation, refine pricing and value propositions, support fundraising, and help position Iron Spark for commercialization and early pilots. This is not a traditional sales roleو it is a strategic commercialization position that blends analysis, customer discovery, and high-level business modeling. The title is flexible based on experience .

Requirements

  • 5–15 years of experience in commercial strategy, business analysis, market research, management consulting, or go-to-market roles.
  • Experience in climate tech, energy, industrial technology, or engineering services.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and structured problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfort building processes and frameworks in high-ambiguity startup environments.
  • Candidates must have existing U.S. work authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting early-stage fundraising (VC engagement, investor decks, data rooms).
  • Experience with utilities, industrial customers, EPCs, or energy-sector market analysis.
  • Prior experience in a startup or emerging-technology environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Iron Spark’s go-to-market strategy, including market segmentation, competitive analysis, and early customer prioritization.
  • Conduct techno-economic framing and support the engineering team with commercial insights for pilot designs.
  • Analyze commercial value propositions, pricing models, and economic benefits for different market segments.
  • Support customer discovery by engaging with industrial prospects, utilities, EPCs, and integrators.
  • Prepare commercial content for fundraising (pre-seed, seed, Series A), including market maps, traction summaries, and data-room materials.
  • Build clear, structured commercial narratives for investor discussions and grant applications.
  • Create dashboards, tracking systems, and KPIs for market development, customer engagement, and pilot opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure customer feedback informs technical development.
  • Help define early pilot deployment strategies and partner evaluation criteria.
