Howard University Hospital seeks to hire a GME Program Assistant in the Graduate Medical Education department, who will embrace our rich and historic tradition of excellence. As a GME Program Assistant , you will: Coordinate annual evaluations of staff members Compile evaluation data by the semiannual review date. Schedule semiannual review meetings with each fellow and the program director. Attend monthly Program Coordinator meetings, monthly Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) meetings, Journal Clubs, peer mentoring meetings, and webinars as applicable. Schedule meetings and events and reserve space as necessary throughout the year; examples include: Orientation, Recruitment meetings, Didactic sessions (e.g., Journal Club, grand rounds), Resident evaluation meetings, Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) meetings Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) meetings, In-training exams in computer classrooms, Graduation. Manage resident/fellow financial allowance account purchases (e.g., textbooks, computers), per the Sponsoring Institution's guidelines. Review Program Letters of Agreement for any changes, expirations, etc. Oversees the administration and scheduling of physician residents in a medical environment. Process residency verification requests Ensure completion of ACGME Resident/Fellow and Faculty Surveys Ensures that the activities of the physician residents meet the needs for training and accreditation. Prepare Medicare Audit documents, per the GME Office's instructions Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required. An additional one (1) to two (2) years of advanced education in secretarial science is preferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years of work experience with proven communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Former experience in a teaching hospital is preferred
  • New Innovations (technology platform) experience highly desired.
