About The Position

Summary: Responsible for the support of GME office functions at designated hospital entity. Supports the daily operations of assigned content area (Human Resources/Informatics Finance or Communications and Health Equity) for the system's GME programs. Provides staff support and leadership to GME offices and to the health system functions. Primary Duties: Answers phones and triages calls and requests as appropriate. Contributes to the achievement of established MedStar goals and objectives and adheres to MedStar policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Contributes to the overall functioning of the assigned location GME team corporate GME team and support of residency and fellowship programs across the health system. Responsible for accurate entry of data into computer systems and databases as assigned. Greets and welcomes all visitors residents/fellows students and others to assigned GME office. Participates in meetings serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in outreach efforts as appropriate. Places orders for catering supplies give-aways poster printing diplomas lab coats etc. and assures accuracy and timely delivery. Processes reimbursement requests for residents/fellows. Provides staff support to local GMEC and other committees as assigned. Registers rotating residents and fellows students and others assigned to clinical facility for rotation. Responsible for accurate management of resident/fellow meal stipends. Responds to alumni verification requests in a timely manner. Supports all system-wide initiatives as assigned. Provides timely responsive follow-up to all requests.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years' experience in GME residency office of support of physician chair responsible for GME program preferred.
  • Strong inter-personal communications team building ability to multi-task and managing multiple competing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel
  • ability to learn new databases and data entry
  • accuracy of data input.
