About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Maintenance Operations Center (GMOC) Controller located at the Missile Defense Integration and Operation Center (MDIOC) at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. This is a Field Operations position where employees must be willing and able to travel to various domestic and/or international locations, potentially on short notice, and may be required to relocate. Specific contracts may require employees to perform deployments to US DOD contingency operations and pass military contractor health standards. The role involves frequently using and applying operational concept analysis standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. The controller will serve as a member of a team that researches, analyzes, and compiles complex technical data for the GMD program in operational and test environments to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle. Key responsibilities include maintaining configuration control of the GMD System 24/7/365, performing asset management, providing situational awareness reporting, facilitating system maintenance execution with real-time deconfliction, and assisting in determining causes for system malfunctions. The position requires the ability to quickly assess situations, apply proper knowledge and procedures for rapid decision-making and reporting, brief senior government officials and Boeing management, and facilitate resolutions to issues between the GMOC, developmental teams, operations sites, and other support activities. The role demands an aggressive self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision under high tempo, demanding conditions.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
  • Must be willing and able (potentially short notice) to travel to a variety of locations (domestic and/or international) to meet our customers’ unique requirements
  • Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer and/or management requirements
  • Employees associated with specific contracts must be able to pass military contractor health standards for deployment
  • Must be an aggressive self-starter and be able to operate with minimal supervision
  • Shift work is required and normally involves working seven out of 14 days, either night or day, in an operations center
  • 3+ years of operations-based experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission critical environment required
  • Must be willing to work any shift (must be able & willing to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer's needs and statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.

  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Responsibilities

  • Frequently use and apply operational concept analysis standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
  • Serve as a member of a team that research, analyze, and compile complex technical data for the GMD program in the operational and test environment to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle
  • Maintain configuration control of the GMD System 24/7/365 days a year supporting the Missile Defense Agency and warfighter community
  • Perform asset management functions in support of development, operational, and sustainment activities
  • Situational Awareness reporting for customers and Boeing Leadership
  • Facilitate system maintenance execution providing real time deconfliction
  • Able to quickly assess situations and apply proper knowledge and procedures to support rapid decision making and reporting
  • Assist in determining cause for system malfunctions by applying advanced operational concepts analysis principles
  • Brief senior government officials and senior Boeing management
  • Facilitate resolutions to issues between the GMOC, developmental teams, operations sites, and other support activities
  • Operate under high tempo, demanding conditions
