GMAW Fitter–Assembler, Rolling Stock
About The Position
Ready to build railcars that millions rely on? Siemens Mobility unites automation and digital technologies to transform rail transportation. In Sacramento, our Rolling Stock team fabricates stainless-steel car bodies for passenger trains used across North America. Could this be you? Do you follow safety procedures religiously and wear PPE without compromise? Can you fit, tack, and weld stainless components into subassemblies and final car bodies using jigs and fixtures — all to strict drawings and tolerances? Are you confident welding to specified standards and repairing fabrication issues using defined procedures? Are you comfortable with hand/power tools and modern welding equipment? Do you document work orders and quality records accurately and manage your time with minimal supervision?
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3–5 years of stainless steel MIG experience, or an accredited welding program plus 2 years of MIG
- General mechanical aptitude
- Basic English skills for reading work instructions and effective verbal communication
Nice To Haves
- AWS GMAW stainless certifications (3G vertical up and 4F overhead)
- Hands-on GTAW (TIG) experience
Responsibilities
