About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers with product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions. Answer incoming calls and resolve customer complaints; escalate to Store Director when necessary. Store Operations Responsible for total store operations in the absence of the Store Director (see Store Director job description). Plan GM daily operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability. Build GM/HBC displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Follow and maintain department standards and requirements. Staffing & Training Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Ensure adequate coverage and service levels through effective scheduling. Train employees on store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Identify and develop employees with high potential for advancement. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening and closing procedures. Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary measures. Inventory & Compliance Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 6 months. Control inventory to maintain product quantity, quality, and freshness per division directives. Stock and rotate products; maintain inventory levels according to division guidelines. Order general merchandise products and maintain inventory levels per division directives. Supervise reclamation processing and maintain orderly, in-stock conditions in backroom and all GM/HBC areas. Control shrink and costs. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Equipment & Safety Operate related equipment, including: Pallet jack Hand truck Scissors, knives, safety cutters Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
