About The Position

JOB PURPOSE Machine helpers assist in the set-up and operation of Bindery folder/gluer machines, following guidelines set in the job ticket. Successful machine helpers are motivated to succeed and work well in a team. Openings are on the Day, Night and Weekend Shifts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Gluer machine helpers load and unload printed material from the folder/gluer machines and assist the operator to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of their equipment while following company policies and procedures. The Machine Helper follows guidelines set forth in the job ticket. Responsibilities also include: Reading and understanding job tickets Following SOPs and instructions Loading and unloading product on machines Making boxes Packing boxes or palletizing goods Moving skids Checking for quality Handling printed material Maintaining adequate levels of supplies in the department Maintaining a clean work area & removing waste Following safety policies and procedures Maintaining a clean work area & removing waste Following safety policies and procedures Keeping your work area clean and “tour ready.” Maintaining adequate levels of supplies in the department Maintaining a clean work area & removing waste Following safety policies and procedures Keeping your work area clean and “tour ready.” Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality. Show commitment to the company’s workplace health and safety culture, especially with regard to OSHA and SQF guidelines. Show commitment to the company’s food safety culture by actively participating in the SQF program and ensuring its requirements are met. This may include participation in one or more committees, including the HACCP team, management review team, internal or external audits, trainings, etc. Report Food Safety Issues to the SQF Practitioner or backup. Additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in machine operating or working with your hands is preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must work well with others.
