About The Position

The Global Supplier Management Lead is a people manager role accountable for leading a global team of Vendor Account Managers (VAMs) and ensuring strong supplier governance, commercial management, and performance oversight across an assigned supplier portfolio. This role owns supplier governance, commercial strategy, and contractual accountability, while operational execution remains with Supplier Operations and Delivery team. The role serves as the primary escalation point for supplier performance, commercial, and compliance matters, while driving cost optimization, risk management, and continuous improvement to deliver superior Customer Experience. This role impacts function and leads initiatives requiring understanding across multiple disciplines, using managerial judgment, business acumen, and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in supplier or vendor management within services or delivery environments.
  • Experience in commercial negotiation, contract management, and supplier governance.
  • Prior people management experience, including coaching and performance management.
  • Experience managing supplier performance through SLAs, KPIs, and governance forums.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage, coach, and develop a global team of Vendor Account Managers.
  • Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations aligned to business objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, feedback sessions, and development planning.
  • Build team capability in supplier governance, commercial management, and negotiation.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Own supplier governance and commercial accountability across an assigned supplier portfolio.
  • Establish and lead governance cadence including operational reviews, QBRs, and executive forums.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for contractual, performance, and compliance issues.
  • Ensure consistent application of governance standards, policies, and playbooks across suppliers.
  • Lead and approve commercial strategies, evaluations, and negotiations including pricing, rate cards, SOWs, and contract terms.
  • Own the supplier contract lifecycle including onboarding, renewals, amendments, renegotiations, and exits.
  • Ensure SLA and KPI frameworks are consistently defined, applied, and governed across the supplier portfolio.
  • Drive cost optimization, rate competitiveness, and commercial value realization.
  • Oversee supplier performance using SLAs, KPIs, scorecards, and corrective action plans.
  • Drive structured remediation plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Sponsor supplier capability, maturity, and quality improvement programs.
  • Monitor performance trends and proactively address risks impacting customer experience.
  • Support supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding decisions.
  • Lead or contribute to supplier consolidation and footprint optimization initiatives.
  • Govern supplier transitions, scale‑ups, and exits to ensure continuity and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure supplier risk management, audit readiness, and compliance governance.
  • Ensure alignment with HP regulatory, security, financial, ESG, and responsible sourcing requirements.
  • Partner with internal risk, legal, and compliance teams to manage supplier risk exposure.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Global teams.
  • Support RFQs, deal reviews, and supplier‑related executive discussions.
  • Contribute to enterprise supplier governance models, standards, and playbooks.
