About The Position

At Flywheel Energy, not only are we growing we’re also building momentum where it matters! We are a fast paced, innovative oil and gas company looking for a strategic and relationship driven Supplier Management Lead to join our Supply Chain team in Oklahoma City. This role owns the end to end supplier relationship lifecycle, including onboarding, qualification, performance management, and development of our preferred vendor network. You will work cross functionally to ensure our suppliers meet Flywheel’s standards for quality, safety, and commercial performance while building long term partnerships that support our operational goals.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in supplier management, vendor relations, or procurement within the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing supplier performance programs, including scorecards and business reviews.
  • Strong understanding of supplier qualification requirements including insurance, safety, and financial vetting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage relationships at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing a preferred vendor list and driving supplier rationalization across a multi basin operation.
  • Familiarity with upstream oil and gas field services and the supplier landscape in the Permian, Rockies, or Mid Continent.
  • Experience with supplier management or procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa, SAP Ariba, or equivalent).
  • Ability to analyze supplier data and translate insights into actionable improvement plans.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience collaborating with Legal and Contracts teams on vendor agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Qualification & Onboarding: Own the supplier onboarding and qualification process, ensuring new vendors meet Flywheel’s safety, insurance, financial, and operational standards
  • Maintain and continuously improve the vendor prequalification program in coordination with HSE, Legal, and Finance
  • Coordinate with the Contracts & Risk team to ensure suppliers have appropriate contractual coverage in place
  • Supplier Performance Management: Develop and implement supplier scorecards and KPIs to measure and track vendor performance across quality, delivery, safety, and cost
  • Lead regular business reviews with key suppliers to address performance gaps, drive improvement, and strengthen partnerships
  • Escalate and resolve supplier performance issues in collaboration with procurement, operations, and field teams
  • Maintain accurate supplier performance data and provide regular reporting to Supply Chain leadership
  • Strategic Supplier Development: Identify and develop strategic supplier relationships that align with Flywheel’s operational growth and cost objectives
  • Conduct market assessments to identify new supplier capabilities and diversification opportunities
  • Support sourcing initiatives with supplier intelligence and market benchmarking
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with key suppliers to enhance service levels and reduce total cost
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with other Supply Chain roles, Operations, HSE, Legal, and Finance to align supplier standards with business needs
  • Support acquisition integration activities by assessing and onboarding new supplier relationships
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated supplier relationship issues
