Role Overview We are looking for a strategic, analytical professional with strong communication skills to join our Global Sourcing team. This role focuses on sourcing products locally, nationally, and globally to meet business needs, leveraging data-driven decisions, optimizing supplier relationships, and managing supply chain risks. The ideal candidate combines financial expertise, negotiation skills, and deep knowledge of global sourcing to drive cost efficiency and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
  • 2+ years in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, cost modeling, and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience in managing complex global supply chains and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strong working knowledge of international sourcing process, financials, and cost composition.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities.
  • Knowledge of global trade regulations, import/export compliance, and logistics.
  • Ability to manage cross-cultural teams, multiple projects, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for executive-level reporting.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 20–30% of the time for supplier visits, audits, and negotiations.
  • Proficient in of Microsoft 360, database query tools, and internal software (e.g., OMI, HIVEMIND, Workday, Tableau)

Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Sourcing Events: Execute RFx processes, negotiate and secure high-value purchase agreements that deliver measurable business impact. Evaluate vendor capabilities and conduct supplier selection based on performance, cost, innovation opportunities and compliance.
  • Contribute to Business Strategy: Collaborate with Business Development Managers (BDMs) to shape 5-year business plans, identify opportunities, and ensure roadmap execution to achieve financial targets. Develop sourcing plans for assigned product lines, identify assortment gaps, review competitive assessment and execute plans through collaboration with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Procurement, Own Brand, and QA.
  • Deliver Insightful Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial and operational category reviews to uncover cost-saving opportunities and communicate actionable insights. Analyze spend to uncover savings and trends; building should cost models and financial benchmarks, and deliver data driven insights that strengthen strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Manage Risk and Create Contingency Plans: Perform supplier risk assessments and proactively anticipate changes in supply, quality, or cost to safeguard business continuity. Develop mitigation plans, assessing geopolitical exposure to optimize the supplier mix while building strong contingency strategies.
  • Lead Global Supplier Partnerships: Manage relationships and negotiations with international and domestic suppliers to optimize net landed costs and strengthen strategic alliances.
  • Champion Innovation: Utilize advanced tools and databases to research customer trends, product development, and emerging innovations
  • Serve as a Trusted Expert: Act as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders, influencing decisions across multiple leadership levels. Educates new vendors on requirements to work with H-E-B.
  • Navigate Global Trade Complexities: Apply expertise in FOREX, import tariffs, antidumping regulations, and currency fluctuations to optimize cost structures.
  • Enhance Operational Efficiency and Compliance: Influence logistics strategies, negotiate costs, and ensure efficiency through INCO terms, consolidated loads, and third-party warehousing solutions. Apply knowledge of U.S. CBP rules, FDA, USDA, OFAC, FATF, and import restrictions to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Lead Industry Engagement: Represent H-E-B at major international trade shows and specialized sourcing/industry related events.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Support BDMs in enhancing processes, reducing lead times, improving product quality, and lowering costs through strategic initiatives and detailed financial analysis.
