Global Reinsurance The Global Reinsurance Underwriting internship program is designed to prepare college students and recent graduates for a career in underwriting and analytics. What’s in it for you? Assigned to a challenging work experience to develop analytical and technical skills Develop and implement processes for utilizing credit rating data from multiple agencies, including mapping of Global Re obligors to source data Create exposure profile templates for Casualty portfolio, collect data from the portfolio and design automation of future process
Requirements
- Recent graduates or students expecting to graduate 2026/2027 with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Risk Management and Insurance, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, or Data Science with minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred
- Must have a record of high achievement, analytical thinking, self-motivation, relationship building and a solid work ethic
- Strong communication, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze and reason through complex problems and make sound recommendations in a fast-paced environment
- High energy self-starter, good decision maker with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Solid time management skills
- Computer savvy- experience with MS office suite
Nice To Haves
- Programming skills in R, Python, SQL a plus
Responsibilities
- Achieve standards established for success in the program by completing regular assignments; plan and prioritize work activities to achieve desired results within necessary time frames
- Actively participate by asking questions and volunteering answers
- Effectively use on-line resources, automation tools, and computer software packages
- Utilize analytical skill to assist in quantifying risk for the reinsurance business
- Continuously develop and strengthen the skills required for success
