Requirements

  • 5+ years of global payroll, payroll compliance, or multinational payroll operations experience.
  • Strong understanding of global labor and payroll tax regulations across multiple regions.
  • Experience with SOX controls, internal audits, or compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to payroll processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining compliance trackers or reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and cross‑functional partnership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • CPP, FPC, or similar payroll certification.
  • Experience with global year‑end processing and payroll‑related accounting activities.
  • Familiarity with global payroll and HR systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP, Oracle).

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Monitor, interpret, and communicate changes to global labor, payroll, and tax laws across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and develop mitigation plans.
  • Partner with regional Payroll Managers to implement process updates aligned with new or revised legislation.
  • Serve as a subject matter‑matter expert on global payroll compliance, offering guidance to internal business partners.
  • Internal Controls & Audit Lead routine and ad‑hoc audits of payroll processes to ensure adherence to global SOX controls and internal policies.
  • Document findings, develop remediation plans, and track corrective actions to completion.
  • Support internal and external audit requests through data preparation, control narratives, and walkthrough support.
  • Research & Program Implementation Evaluate new statutory requirements, company offered programs, or employee benefit changes to determine‑offered programs, or employee benefit changes to determine payroll taxability and reporting impacts.
  • Partner with HR, Legal, Compensation, and Benefits to ensure new programs are implemented accurately and in compliance with local requirements.
  • Global Year End‑End Activities Lead year end‑end payroll planning and execution in collaboration with the Payroll Tax Analyst and regional teams.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of year‑end forms, reporting, reconciliations, and employee communications.
  • General Ledger & Financial Reporting Participate in global payroll related GL reconciliation activities to ensure accurate‑related GL reconciliation activities to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Validate payroll account balances, accruals, and accounting entries as part of the payroll control framework.
  • Tracking, Documentation & Executive Reporting Maintain detailed compliance trackers, risk logs, and action plans for global visibility.
  • Prepare executive level‑level summaries, dashboards, and status updates on compliance metrics, key risks, and remediation progress.
  • Ensure critical documentation is consistently governed, updated, and stored for audit readiness.
  • Develop and maintain global compliance documentation, including process maps, internal controls, and country-specific compliance checklists.
  • Global Projects & Transformation Initiatives Serve as the Global Payroll Compliance SME on all payroll related‑related projects, including: Mergers & acquisitions Divestitures Global Payroll Expansion Payroll Transformation and Optimization initiatives Evaluate project requirements to ensure compliance, proper control design, and alignment with global standards.
  • Recommend technological or operational enhancements to strengthen global payroll governance.
  • Create and deliver training materials related to compliance standards and best practices.
