Reporting to the Vice-President, Head of Technology, The Global IT Director oversees the strategic and operational management of the organization’s global IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and regional requirements across multiple countries, including the United States and Mexico. This role is responsible for leading IT initiatives, optimizing technology resources, and driving digital transformation to improve operational efficiency and scalability. The Global IT Director ensures compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements, manages cross-functional teams, and fosters collaboration between global and regional IT departments to deliver reliable, innovative technology solutions. Reporting directly to senior executives, this role provides strategic guidance, develops policies, and ensures the effective allocation of resources to support business objectives worldwide.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing global IT operations and multi-country teams.
  • Expertise in IT governance frameworks, including ITIL, COBIT, or ISO 27001.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise-level systems, including Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and other cloud-based solutions.
  • Advanced understanding of cybersecurity protocols, data protection laws, and compliance requirements across regions.
  • Proficient in project management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and optimize IT expenditures.
  • Hands-on experience with network architecture, IT infrastructure, and enterprise-level software systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to meet business needs.
  • Proficiency in managing IT operations in highly regulated industries with complex compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning, development, and implementation of global IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent and effective technology operations across all regions.
  • Manage the global IT budget, approve expenditures, and allocate resources for IT initiatives while ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with business priorities.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including network systems, cloud services, data centers, cybersecurity, and end-user support.
  • Develop and execute global cybersecurity strategies, ensuring compliance with regional and international data protection regulations and safeguarding company assets.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align IT strategies with overall business objectives and drive digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage cross-regional IT teams, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Oversee vendor management, including contract negotiations, service-level agreements, and monitoring the performance of global technology service providers.
  • Lead large-scale IT projects, such as system migrations, software implementations, and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Provide strategic decision-making for the adoption of emerging technologies, evaluating their potential to enhance productivity and competitive advantage globally.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT audits, ensuring compliance with international standards and preparing reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
