The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Global Health Manager – EHS Center of Excellence, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by being primarily responsible for implementing the global health strategy and leading a team of health subject matter experts to support facilities around the world. In addition, you will be responsible to: Provide leadership and strategic direction for health topics (e.g. industrial hygiene, ergonomics, radiation protection) to achieve sustained performance improvements globally. Improve and refine health standards including training, tools, communication and audit requirements for topics including, but not limited to, noise/hearing conservation, PPE, ventilation, thermal stress, and radiation management and provide guidance to implement health strategies and expectations. Lead and define requirements to facilitate health improvements, based on a history of improvement methodology, through exposure risk assessment, management and control. Review and approve technology to mitigate exposure risks in partnership with engineering and manufacturing technology leadership and develop a program to conduct EHS reviews and scope approval for health-related CAPEX projects (e.g. ventilation, noise exposure, ergonomics, etc). Lead incident investigations, as required, and review root cause for all health incidents and near misses. Ensure action items are complete, documented and learnings are replicated to other applicable facilities to prevent future incidents. Lead health networks to connect and coach SMEs globally and facilitate new leader reviews to ensure operations, engineering and site leaders fully understand potential health impacts and risks in line with their role and responsibility. Collaborate across global EHS, area EHS teams, operations, engineering, R&D, legal affairs, occupational medicine, and external stakeholders to drive EHS performance excellence and recognize and replicate EHS best practices. Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, attention to detail, and standard work to realize a working environment of open communications, project management and prioritization, and a full entitlement mindset toward compliance and risk reduction. Lead external benchmarking and trade association engagement to ensure the identification and integration of novel techniques and technologies to improve and sustain EHS performance. Lead and/or participate on global EHS audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Ten (10) years of relevant health experience (e.g. industrial hygiene, ergonomics and radiation protection) in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Ten (10) years combined supervisory and/or management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Health expertise in exposure assessment and controls with experience in a wide variety of chemicals and manufacturing/R&D environments, as well as expertise in ergonomics and radiation protection.
  • Experience implementing AI-based health solutions is a plus.
  • Experience with global, regional (US, Asia, etc.), and/or state EHS regulations and risk reduction strategies for manufacturing facilities.
  • Strategic thinker, high attention to detail, process-oriented, ability to develop and maintain good working relations with clients, ability to communicate (multi-lingual a plus) broadly, clear/concise writing ability and data documentation style, self-starter with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong demonstration of project management skills and ability to manage activities and resources to achieve targets and objectives.
  • Previous experience in R&D, pilot plant or manufacturing settings.
  • Expert/master knowledge and experience in one or more EHS professional disciplines (e.g. worker safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance).
  • Master’s degree or higher in an engineering, science or EHS-related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Certification(s) such as: Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) or related EHS credential.
