About The Position

The Global Head of Corporate Security is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and execution of TransUnion’s global physical security program, safeguarding the company’s people, assets, operations, and reputation across 60 locations in 35 countries on six continents. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, this executive will manage all aspects of physical, travel, event, and crisis security, excluding cyber security, and serve as the primary liaison with law enforcement, government agencies, and internal stakeholders. The role requires special clearances (including authorization to carry a weapon on planes and across borders), advanced crisis management skills, and the ability to handle high-risk scenarios involving executives, employees, and external threats.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in global corporate security, with expertise in physical, operational, and intelligence-based security.
  • 5–10 years of military, law enforcement, or intelligence experience.
  • Demonstrated success in executive protection, crisis management, and global operations.
  • Proven ability to interact with and influence C-suite executives; strong executive presence and communication skills.
  • Advanced business acumen, including budget management, reporting, and business case development.
  • Experience with security technologies, GSOC operations, and data-driven reporting.
  • Certifications: CPP, PSP, CBCP, PCI, CFE, ASO, HR 218, or equivalent (highly desirable).
  • Special clearances for armed protection and international travel.
  • Willingness to travel globally (up to 75%) and be on call 24/7.
  • Strong network of corporate and government security contacts worldwide.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Master’s degree in security, strategy, international affairs, or related discipline.
  • Recent experience as CSO or equivalent at a global firm (10,000+ employees).
  • Advanced training in crisis management, business continuity, and executive protection.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership Develop and execute a global security strategy aligned with business objectives, risk tolerance, and operational needs.
  • Build and present business cases for security investments, demonstrating ROI and alignment with enterprise priorities.
  • Advise and collaborate with the C-suite, providing clear, actionable intelligence and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with HR, Legal, IT, Facilities, and Procurement to embed security into all aspects of the business.
  • Drive a culture of security awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Physical, Travel, and Event Security Oversee security for all corporate locations, ensuring compliance with local laws and industry standards.
  • Manage executive protection, including travel risk management, event security, and residential assessments for the C-suite and board.
  • Coordinate with global law enforcement, federal agencies (DoD, DHS, Secret Service, State Department), and local authorities.
  • Maintain special clearances and certifications required for international travel and armed protection.
  • Lead crisis response for threats to executives, irate consumers, employee disputes, and workplace violence.
  • Crisis Management & Incident Response Develop and maintain robust crisis management and business continuity plans.
  • Lead emergency response, including evacuation, medical coordination, and incident investigation.
  • Serve as the organization’s focal point for crisis communications and stakeholder engagement during critical events.
  • Security Technology & Intelligence Implement and oversee advanced security technologies (access control, surveillance, threat detection, GSOC).
  • Lead the security intelligence program, monitoring geopolitical, social, and environmental risks.
  • Produce regular briefings and reports for senior leadership, leveraging data analytics and technology platforms.
  • Team Leadership & Development Build, mentor, and manage a global team of security professionals and contractors.
  • Foster professional growth, diversity, and alignment with organizational values.
  • Ensure continuous training and readiness for high-risk scenarios.
