About The Position

We are seeking someone to join our team as a Global Financial Crimes (GFC): Data Quality Controls Lead. In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. The Vice President, GFC Data Quality Controls & Testing Lead is responsible for overseeing data quality (DQ) controls and data testing activities supporting Global Financial Crime controls, models, and regulatory reporting. The role ensures that data consumed by GFC is accurate, complete, timely, and fit for purpose, and that data quality risks are identified, governed, and escalated appropriately. Operating within the second line of defense, this role partners closely with first line data providers, technology teams, and risk stakeholders to support regulatory defensibility and ongoing risk mitigation. GFC coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's financial crime prevention efforts. Including governance, oversight and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials.
  • Vice President level experience in data quality, data controls, testing, or data governance within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial crime data domains (e.g., Transaction Monitoring, ECRR, Sanctions, asset movement).
  • Experience supporting regulatory exams, internal audit, or operational risk testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform hands on data testing and analytical review, not solely oversight.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing clear, defensible documentation.
  • Four days in office attendance is required

Responsibilities

  • Data Quality Controls Oversee the review, governance, and escalation of DQ control exceptions across GFC critical data elements (CDEs).
  • Maintain and refine DQ rules, thresholds, and configurations, including assessment of rule changes, decommissioning, and alignment to business expectations.
  • Conduct and document root cause analysis (RCA) with first line data providers for material or aged DQ issues.
  • Escalate data quality risks through established GFC and LCD governance forums, ensuring transparency and auditability.
  • Data Testing Design and execute data testing programs, including documented test plans, scripts, evidence, and results.
  • Perform sample based testing to validate that data sourced from authoritative systems is fit for purpose for GFC controls and models.
  • Lead UAT, regression testing, and control validation activities in partnership with technology and business teams.
  • Provide testing outcomes to support controlled production releases and risk based decision making.
  • Regulatory & Audit Support Support regulatory examinations, internal audit, and independent risk testing by providing clear evidence of DQ control design and operating effectiveness.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for DQ controls and testing in interactions with Compliance, NFR Oversight, and Internal Audit.
  • Collaboration & Oversight Partner with Dataset Owners, Data Governance leads, Technology, and NFR D&A to align DQ controls and testing to curated GFC datasets.
  • Provide oversight and direction to onshore and offshore DQ analysts and testers supporting controls and testing execution.
